I have made a CD ROM version of this website (now as at January 2006). It is an exact copy of the website and works in exactly the same way, UPDATES on the website will continue as usual and I will issue newer versions of the CD when the amount of new material added seems to justify this. Updates on the CD are free of any charge, so if you have the first issue, available from January 2002, send me an e-mail and a stamped addressed envelope, preferably a padded one, you can have the latest version. If you are outside the UK, just send the e-mail first. PRICE for a first order is 7 pounds sterling, including postage (anywhere), packing and updates. PAYMENT METHOD will have to be by sterling cheque (made out to Anne Marshall) or International Money Order, and I will send the CD as soon as I receive the payment. with all links, internal and external, intact. But (and regrettably) a change of operating system means that the ‘simple’ Database in Microsoft Works has had to be discontinued. I am working on a new database in Microsoft Access, which, like its Works predecessor, can be used by anyone who has the relevant application. As before it will contain details of all paintings recorded in English parish churches (800+ locations in all), extant or otherwise, compiled from the various books, articles, etc. on the subject from the beginning of the 20th century (sometimes earlier) to date. And, again as before, it will be searchable, with full instructions for searching included. I hope that it will work as well, if not better, as the earlier and less sophisticated version, enabling a user to find out, for example, which churches in a given county have a painting of, say, the Annunciation. The new Database should be ready in March or April 2006, so watch this space for further announcements.
